Get a local SIM card

Telcel and AT&T Mexico both work well. Pick up at the airport or any OXXO. Telcel has better coverage outside Centro. Get at least 10GB to start.

Book short-term housing first

Don't sign a lease in week one. Book Airbnb or a furnished rental for 30 days while you explore neighborhoods. Prices vary a lot.

Find your working base

Try 2 or 3 coworking spots and cafes in your first week. You'll quickly know which one fits your working style.

Open a Mexican bank account

BBVA and Banorte are community favorites. You'll need your passport, a local address, and some patience. Worth it after month one.
